How do ACT-1 actuator jam alarms work?
If the jam alarm is disabled, the system essentially goes into a cycle of constantly turning on the relay in whatever direction it was going to attempt to reach the target position. The jam threshold is: If it takes longer than 20s to reach its position it’ll go into the paused jam state (when jam alarm is enable) or go into a retry cycle (when disabled).
What is the operation if the jam alarm is disabled. Would it turn off the relay if a jam occurred?
As described above, if the jam alarm is disabled, the relays will continue to close the curtain to try and reach 0%. The close relay will turn on for 20s at a time, take a few seconds break (like when switching directions) and then retry closing again, indefinitely.
What is the normal result of a jam alarm? Does it manually override it, or just go idle?
The ACT-1 goes into a state similar to IDLE, and not overridden. But override commands can be used to attempt to unjam the ACT, similar to an UNJAM. The UNJAM command itself also does the same as a retry loop (what happens when the alarm is disabled).
