Cannot receive alerts to Gmail account because you can no longer ignore "less secure" apps

The option of "Less-secure access" for POP3/IMAP/SMTP has been discontinued. To ensure that Omni alerts are still received you must do the following:

Enable 2-step verification in your Google account security settings:

Allow 2-Step Verification
  1. Open your Google Account.
  2. In the navigation panel, select Security.
  3. Under “Signing in to Google,” select 2-Step Verification and then Get started.
  4. Follow the on-screen steps.

Generate an application password to use instead of your regular account password:

Sign in with App Passwords
An App Password is a 16-digit passcode that gives a less secure app or device permission to access your Google Account. App Passwords can only be used with accounts that have 2-Step Verification turned on.

Create & use App Passwords
  1. Go to your Google Account.
  2. Select Security.
  3. Under "Signing in to Google," select App Passwords. You may need to sign in. If you don’t have this option, it might be because:
    1. 2-Step Verification is not set up for your account.
    2. 2-Step Verification is only set up for security keys.
    3. Your account is through work, school, or other organization.
    4. You turned on Advanced Protection.
  4. At the bottom, choose Select app and choose Other (custom name)  then enter in Omni-Select then press Generate.
  5. Copy the app password shown, and enter it into the Omni-Select email set-up where you would enter your normal email password (The SMTP password field).

The accounts are bound to the email address they are first created with. So unfortunately, you would need to create a new account, and then manually add yourself to all of the controls, and then remove the previous account.
