Air curtain operation explained

Air curtain operation explained

Air curtain settings

  1. This is the status and physical order of the air curtain bags. The numbers correspond with blower numbers in item B
  2. This is the list of blowers, in the order they inflate. The blower button that is selected is the one that you can adjust the open and close set points for. The set points for blower 1 must be higher than the ones for blower 2, and so on.
  3. Open set point is the temperature at which the selected blower switches off and the airbag opens.
  4. Close set point is the temperature at which the selected blower switches on and the airbag closes.
  5. Blower delay is the wait time after inflating or deflating a bag. Immediately after a relay switches on or off, the system waits for the blower delay before reading the temperature and deciding what to do next. This prevents all relays from switching on at the same time.
  6. Group adjustment adjusts the open and close set points for all blowers by the same amount.

How it works

  1. When the temperature is below the close set point for the last blower (6 in our example), all blowers are on and all airbags are closed.
  2. When the temperature rises above the open set point for blower 6, the blower shuts off and the airbag opens. AutoFlex then waits for the blower delay.
  3. After the blower delay, AutoFlex reads the temperature and then:
    1. If the temperature is stable, leaves the blowers as they are.
    2. If the temperature rises above the open set point for the next blower, that blower shuts off and the airbag opens.
    3. If the temperature falls below the close set point, that blower switches on and the airbag closes.
